Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the recruitment advertisement for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 (SSC CHSL 2026). A total of 2,536 tentative vacancies have been announced for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts across various Central Government Ministries and Departments. Eligible 12th pass candidates can apply online from 07 September 2026 to 07 October 2026.

  • SSC allows candidates a 3-day window to correct or modify any details in their submitted application form.
  • Candidates can make corrections up to two times during the window period.
  • A uniform fee of ₹200 is charged for the first correction, and ₹500 for the second correction.
  • All correction charges must be paid online via UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit Card.
  • After correction and final submission, earlier data will be overwritten and cannot be retrieved.

Age Relaxation: Crucial date for age calculation is 01-08-2026 (candidates born between 02-08-1999 and 01-08-2008). Upper age relaxation: SC/ST: 5 Years (Up to 32 Years), OBC: 3 Years (Up to 30 Years), PwBD (UR): 10 Years, PwBD (OBC): 13 Years, PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years, Ex-Servicemen: 3 Years after deduction of military service.

Selection Process Stages

  • 1Tier-I Examination: Computer Based Examination (100 Questions, 200 Marks, 60 Minutes duration with 0.50 negative marking).
  • 2Tier-II Examination: Objective CBT containing Section-I (Maths & Reasoning: 180 Marks) and Section-II (English & GA: 180 Marks).
  • 3Computer Knowledge Test: Mandatory qualifying module under Tier-II Section-III (15 Questions, 45 Marks, 15 Minutes).
  • 4Skill Test / Typing Test: Qualifying practical typing test on computer (35 wpm English / 30 wpm Hindi for LDC/JSA; 8,000 or 15,000 KDPH for DEO).
  • 5Merit List Formulation: Final selection merit list prepared based strictly on aggregate marks scored in Tier-II (Section-I + Section-II).
  • 6Document Verification (DV): Conducted directly by the allotted Indenting Departments / Ministries followed by Medical Fitness Examination.

How to Apply Online for Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

  2. 2If applying for the first time on the new portal, complete One-Time Registration (OTR) with personal details, Aadhaar number, email, and mobile OTP.
  3. 3Log in using your generated Registration Number and Password.
  4. 4Navigate to the "Live Examinations" tab on your candidate dashboard and locate Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026.
  5. 5Click on "Apply" to open the recruitment application form.
