HAL Junior Executive Selection Process 2026 (Clause 11.0)

Official Selection Rule: Selection is Done Through Interview Only

The official notification categorically establishes that there is NO WRITTEN TEST OR CBT. Selection of candidates is made strictly through Interview.

Step 1: Shortlisting for Interview in 1:10 Ratio (Maximum)

Eligible candidates are shortlisted on the basis of aggregate percentage scored in their qualifying engineering examination, arranged in order of merit in a maximum ratio of 1:10 to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category.

Step 2: Tie-Breaking Mechanism

In case aggregate marks in the qualifying examination are equal among candidates, the candidate who is elder or senior in age is placed higher in the shortlisting merit.

Step 3: Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates (degree, marksheets, conversion certificate, caste/EWS/disability proofs, and NOC where applicable) for verification prior to appearing in the Interview.

Step 4: Selection Interview

Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the Interview for qualifying in the selection (relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD as per rules). Final selection against notified vacancies is made purely on Interview performance.

How Does the 1:10 Shortlisting Work?

For example, if a discipline has 10 vacancies in a specific category, up to a maximum of 100 eligible candidates with the highest degree marks will be invited for Interview.

• UR Grouping: All Unreserved candidates along with SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates who do not avail any relaxation are first grouped together and arranged in descending order of merit for the UR quota in the 1:10 ratio.

• Reserved Regrouping: Reserved category candidates who are not shortlisted under UR merit are regrouped within their respective community categories and called for interview in the 1:10 ratio.

NOC Requirement for Government & PSU Employees (Clause 11.7)

Candidates currently employed on regular or contract basis in Central/State Government Departments, Public Sector Enterprises (PSUs), Autonomous Bodies, Quasi-Govt bodies, Armed Forces, or Para-Military Forces must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at Document Verification.

If NOC does not apply to your employment terms, an official document from your employer establishing non-applicability must be submitted. Candidates failing to submit NOC will not be allowed to attend the Interview and will forfeit TA reimbursement.

Pre-Employment Medical Examination (Clause 13.0)

Provisionally selected candidates, including PwBDs, must undergo a mandatory Pre-employment Medical Examination before joining HAL. Appointment is strictly subject to a satisfactory medical report from the Company's Doctor conforming to HAL's medical standards. No relaxation in health standards is permitted.

  • Assuming Written Exam: Do not prepare for a written test; selection is through shortlisting and Interview only.
  • Rounding Off Aggregate Marks: Entering rounded-off percentages (such as 60% when actual score is 59.8%) will lead to disqualification during document verification.
  • Distance Education Degrees: Engineering degrees earned via distance, correspondence, or part-time mode are strictly ineligible.
  • Missing Payment Validation Window: After paying ₹500 via SBI Collect, you must re-login after 48–72 hours to confirm submission and download your completed form.
