When Will RRB Section Controller Admit Card 2026 Be Released?

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) release the RRB Section Controller Admit Card 2026 (E-Call Letter) approximately 4 days prior to the candidate's scheduled exam date. Unlike single-day exams where all admit cards go live simultaneously, RRB releases e-call letters in batches tied to each candidate's individual CBT date as confirmed in their Exam City & Date intimation slip.

Indicative E-Call Letter Release Schedule:

  • Candidate having exam on 12 October 2026: E-call letter expected approximately 4 days earlier (around 8 October 2026).

Important Disclaimer: These calculated dates are purely illustrative based on RRB's standard 4-day release rule. Candidates must track the actual live activation on their respective regional RRB web portals or via rrbapply.gov.in.

RRB Section Controller Exam City Slip 2026

The Exam City & Date Intimation Slip is a preliminary informational document released by Railway Recruitment Boards approximately 10 days prior to the commencement of the CBT (expected around 2 to 3 October 2026).

Its primary purpose is to inform candidates in advance about their allotted examination city, scheduled exam date, and shift timing so that outstation candidates can arrange rail/bus reservations and travel logistics in advance. For eligible SC/ST candidates who opted for travel assistance, the Free Sleeper Class Railway Travel Authority (Pass) is also made downloadable directly through the Exam City Slip login window.

Crucial Notice: The Exam City Intimation Slip is NOT the admit card. It does NOT contain the specific exam centre name or exact street address and cannot be used to enter the examination hall.

Aadhaar Rules for RRB Section Controller Exam 2026

The Railway Recruitment Boards have made Aadhaar verification a cornerstone of candidate identification and fraud prevention for CEN 03/2026:

1. Aadhaar Authentication: Candidates who have not completed Aadhaar verification during online registration should log in to rrbapply.gov.in and complete it before the exam date.

2. Unlock Aadhaar Biometrics: Candidates who have locked their biometrics on the UIDAI website/mAadhaar app must unlock their biometrics before reaching the examination centre. Locked biometrics will fail at the centre scanner, causing entry rejection.

3. Demographic Accuracy: Ensure your Aadhaar details match your Class 10 certificate exactly, including candidate name, father's name, date of birth, and latest photograph.

4. Physical ID: Always carry your original physical Aadhaar card. E-Aadhaar is acceptable only when printed with a valid QR code and verified digital signature.

Biometric Verification at the Exam Centre

Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication (fingerprint scanning and digital photo capture) will be conducted for every candidate prior to entry into the examination hall.

  • Biometrics recorded during the CBT will be cross-matched during the CBAT, Document Verification, and final appointment stages.
  • Ensure fingers are free from mehendi, ink, tattoos, paint, or grease to prevent scanner reading failures.
  • Candidates must arrive strictly according to the Reporting Time specified on the e-call letter to smoothly complete biometric registration before gate closure.

The following items are strictly banned inside the exam premises. Possession of any will result in immediate disqualification:

*Important Rule: Scoring the minimum qualifying percentage only satisfies the basic eligibility threshold. Actual shortlisting for the subsequent CBAT stage is strictly merit-based against available vacancy quotas.

What Happens After the RRB Section Controller CBT?

Candidates qualifying the Computer Based Test advance through a comprehensive multi-stage evaluation:

1. CBT Result & CBAT Shortlisting

Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies for each community/category will be shortlisted for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) based on normalised CBT scores.

2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

Candidates must score a minimum T-score of 42 in each test battery to qualify. There is no negative marking in the CBAT.

3. Final Merit Calculation Weightage

Final composite merit list is formulated by drawing 70% weightage from the CBT score and 30% weightage from the CBAT score.

4. Document Verification & Medical Examination

Shortlisted candidates undergo certificate scrutiny followed by stringent Railway Medical Fitness examination (A-2 standard) before final appointment orders are issued.

Vision Certificate Required for CBAT

Because Section Controllers handle real-time train dispatch and section signaling control, Railway Recruitment Boards require candidates appearing for the CBAT to produce a Medical Vision Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure VI / VI-A of CEN 03/2026).

• The Vision Certificate must be issued and signed by a registered Eye Specialist (Ophthalmologist).

• It must be produced in original at the CBAT examination venue.

• Candidates failing to produce this original vision certificate on the day of CBAT will not be permitted to take the aptitude test under any circumstances.

Note: This certificate is required during the CBAT stage and is NOT needed for the preliminary CBT on 12–13 October 2026.
